Capsize fills a blank in game design space in that it does not enforce one scoring mechanism over the other and leaves the decision open to the players as a thought-provoking question. As a local multiplayer arcade game with drop-in/drop-out multiplayer, Capsize also seeks to fulfill the role of a game to be played - and spectated - by people in a low-investement and highly-social environment (such as a party), a playful setting which is rarely the target of game designers.
